My name is Chrissy Camilleri and I am a senior communication student at Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga, California. Through my undergraduate career, I have transformed from a lost, anxious soul, to a determined, focused, and motivated 21-year-old. I found my home in college through my involvement on campus. I have served my community through being a Weekend of Welcome leader for new students, a Resident Advisor for over 100 first-year residents on campus, and the chair of the Meditation Club.
My love for social media blossomed in 2015 when I was hired as one of the Social Media Reporters for Saint Mary’s Office of College Communications. Through this role, I have been able to capture SMC’s unique culture through Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram posts. I even was able to meet and interview Oscar Winner, Mehershala Ali after last year’s Commencement (super nice guy).
This semester, I have been able to fulfill my ultimate dream through working for the San Francisco Giants. I am currently the Junior Giants Intern for the Giants Community Fund. I assist with the planning and preparation of our 90 free, coed, non-competitive leagues across California, Oregon and Nevada. Through our dynamic program that focuses on the fundamentals of baseball and character development, we are able to host 25,000 underserved kids each year who would not be able to play in organized sports if it was not for the Junior Giants.
In the spare time I do have, I enjoy meditating, cooking, attending yoga classes, filming and editing documentary films, breaking out in spontaneous dance parties, and singing too loud in the car.
